His translations are designed to be read orally like The Iliad was meant to be.
I read Harry Potter as it was coming out and stopped after Prisoner of Azkaban because it was getting dark and somewhat boring. Picked it up a decade later and finished it.
I'd like to read The Art of War someday however I've heard it is very dry and talks about boring things like military logistics a lot.
Haha. I have three of those books, but they are hidden well...or...they WILL be. Thank you for sharing.
I score 5.
Didn't finish The Illiad. It does get a little repetitive ("then the darkness closed over his eyes").
Couldn't get past page 10 of Harry Potter. Not sure if I finished The Art of War or not.
I had a hard time reading the Iliad until I got the Lombard translation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Lombardo

I’ve seen some of these red flag posts before. Usually they describe me a bit 😄
Who cares if the Earth revolves around the Sun??? Wasted brain space!
Holmes has his good qualities, as well. He never puts up with other people's s**t when they try to threaten or blackmail him, for one thing.
Yeah, he's one of my favorite characters of all time.
Hey! These are all my favorite books!
