Step aside Cucaracha! There’s a new dance in town! It’s called La Cicada! Unlike the Cucaracha, La Cicada incorporates arm gesticulations and doesn’t need a sombrero to dance around. Just go into a yard with grass and trees and you’ll figure it out!
People love doing this with no music. They just walk through the grass, smack their legs, convulse their upper body and scream like the Beatles/Elvis/Buddy Holly/N*Sync/NKOTB/Taylor Swift/(you get the drift) is playing right in front of them!
If you don’t know what I’m referring to, cicadas are now infesting our nation. The bugs that only appear in 17 and 13 year intervals have both coincided this year. Some would say they look like demon bugs… and they would be correct!
