Where I live, we have this every year, and the ones here mostly seem to have black or gold eyes instead of red so I think they look like alien spy drones more than demons, but they are still obnoxious, just less obnoxious if they're a normal part of the environment. I tend to think making the state insect the honeybee was a copout, it should've been the cicada since this is a more accurate reflection of what's here, though I've had to confront the mason bees of Beemasonry many times before, this is not even the same genus as honeybees.
